Danny Hodgson, a former ECU Joondalup soccer player, was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Perth, Western Australia. On September 5, 2021, a known criminal punched Mr. Hodgson without warning in the Perth city train station. The punch rendered him unconscious, causing a severe traumatic brain injury. Danny was rushed into a comsfor a month. As a result, Danny Hodgson suffered life-threatening/changing injuries, including a brain hemorrhage and a skull fracture. Danny spent 196 straight days in hospital 82 of them days Danny was on a life support machine in the intensive care unit. in the hospital He had 5 major brain surgeries. During the 196 days, Danny also got sick with pneumonia and meningitis. Danny is now disabled for the rest of his life and requires 24-hour care. Danny is on a crusade for justice.

The 2024 Teeing Up for Danny Hodgson Charity Fundraiser Golf Day promises to be an extraordinary experience filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and the chance to support Danny during his ongoing rehabilitation. This event will feature a 4-ball Ambrose team format, with a cost of $190 per player or $760 for a team of 4. The day includes pre-game bacon & rolls, 18 holes of golf with a twin-share buggy, and a post-game function with platters of sliders, pizzas, and pies. Prizes will be awarded for the lowest score, longest drive, closest to the pin, hole-in-one prize, and more. Sponsored by Danny Green's Stop the Coward Punch Campaign.
